Brighten Up Your Checks with the Cast of Looney Tunes

By Alan Plastin

Looney Tunes has been entertaining audiences in one form or another since 1934. Fans of the cartoons and characters now span several generations and children today still watch Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Sylvester and Tweety. These days, you can even purchase personal bank checks that feature Bugs and the gang.

Looney Tunes was Warner Brothers first animated theatrical series and ran in cinemas from 1929 until 1969 .

The Looney Tunes short spawned some of the world's most beloved cartoon characters including Wile E Coyote, Porky Pig, Daffy Duck, Pepe Le Pew, Yosemite Sam, Tweety, the Road Runner, and Bugs Bunny. From the early 1940s until the 1960s, Looney Tunes was also the most popular short cartoon series in theaters.

Originally aired in black and white to begin with, in 1967 78 of the cartoons were re-traced frame-by-frame in an effort to colorize them. However, the process was primitive and the quality was not top-notch. Later, in the mid 1990s, those same 78 shorts were colorized again using a digital system which made the colors more superior.

It might be hard to believe now, but at one time some of the Looney Tunes cartoons and characters were even considered controversial. One character and his cartoons in particular, Speedy Gonzales, was banned in 1999 due to the supposed racial stereotypes he projected. However, they were put back on the air in 2002 when Hispanics protested and claimed that Speedy was not offensive to them and that, in fact, he represented fond memories of their childhood.

A number of people remember their childhoods fondly when they think of the Looney Tunes characters. Some grew up seeing the shorts in theaters while others watched them on Saturday mornings. If you grew up watching Bugs and his friends and still think of Bugs every time you eat a carrot, then you might like the Looney Tunes checks.

There are 8 rotating scenes in the Looney Tunes checks which means that each check you write will be different from the last one. Some of your favorite characters are integrated into humorous scenes in the images including Sylvester, Daffy Duck, Marvin the Martian, Tweety, Taz, and Bugs Bunny. You Coordinating address labels and a matching checkbook cover to go with your checks can be purchased as well.

Keep in mind that by ordering your checks online you can save as much as 50% off the price of the checks. By purchasing them from a reputable website you can save time and money. Plus, you will have a wider selection of checks to choose from, unlike the limited supply of designs your local bank might keep in stock.

When you buy your checks online don't forget to have your checking account number and your routing number on hand because these will be printed onto the checks themselves. You should plan on getting your checks in approximately 5 days, which could be quicker than your bank got them to you. - 31981
